Just a blog that started off without a purpose, and months and months later found itself as the host of my little "Don't Be Sad Dinosaurs" comics.

Oh. Right. I have a blog.
So yeah. Summer's over, like, 100% over. Things I did? Well, it's great that you asked.
I stayed at home because no one wanted to hire a seasonal worker who was only going to be there one summer. So no pay-check.
BUT. I did get a lot of time with my friends, and even ended up meeting some people (I know, me, meeting people, seems impossible)! It was lovely to see everyone, and hang out with them, and see what they've been doing while at school. The band my Dimities is in really took off this summer and were fantastic at their shows and wonderful in their recording, and were all around just great. My Wifers and I have started to intensely plan our trip to Mexico this winter, which is my motivating factor for getting through the first semester of school.
But right now I'm just sitting in my awesome room at school (no, seriously, best sophomore building and RA room? Own bathroom, living room, bedroom, hallway thing, TWO closets...its the best), up way too late for the hours I work during the day (and I say work as in, forced training for RA stuff and listing and note taking and having the same information thrown at us over and over while we're still in the dark about some really urgent and anxiety inducing things, but whatever!), and waiting for TJ to come over because apparently he is doing so if only because he wants some of the candy I have for my residents and myself.
I got a tattoo, my dog is going to be turning 3, I really want a Mac laptop, and I'm in love with Benedict Cumberbatch.
Goodnight y'all,
Liz

In Which I Have 2 Weeks Left Until Summer
Yes, it's that beautiful time of year where the blossoms are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the students gaze out their windows with a longing for home because the summer is just on the horizon. I've cleaned my room, begun to pack, and will be at the last ballroom competition for my team this year. Things are looking up as my freedom approaches. Only two more weeks and then, Babes, I'm outta here! I'm going home (to the less than glorious hometown) to see my parents and my dog, eat good food, sleep in a comfortable bed, drive a car, hang out with my friends, and hopefully find a job.
I will ALSO be going to a book signing to see NEIL GAIMAN. YOU KNOW. THE NEIL GAIMAN. It's obvious that I'm not excited or anything. But actually.
I have a ten page term paper to write, ten classroom blog posts to do, twenty photo journals to write, a resume to put together, four photo collages to make, a mural to finish, a mural to paint over, a three page paper and presentation to give, the rest of my room to pack, RA paperwork to finish, and three exams to take: one in my Muslim Worlds class, a written test for Arabic, and an oral exam for Arabic. It's kind of gross how much I have to do.
On the other hand, I do have some fun stuff. Like Ballroom-Palooza! The end of the year ballroom dance team dinner with social dancing, food, and paper plate awards. There is also the MIT competition we're going to tomorrow, and a global banquet thing my residence hall is putting together (my group is making Baklava!!) on Thursday. Then there is Spring Weekend here at HC, and while the concert is going to be Mac Miller with Walk the Moon, I am not going because I don't know either of them and the Ballroom-Palooza is that night. But the rest of Spring Weekend will be fun, I suppose.
Anyways, blargh,
Liz
